Why ever not? They boost active immunity.

We are not talking about a third shot that's something other than the first two, something tweaked to target a variant; these just boost what the original two did.

Yes, those of us who are vaccinated are still protected against severe disease, but boosting immunity will also likely protect against breakthrough infections, meaning we're less likely to spread the disease to someone without immunity - and if it comes to a choice between forcing someone to take a shot they don't want, and getting one myself, if it might save lives, I'll take the shot.

That said, I'd agree 100% that the best place for those shots is in arms outside the US - but that's not something I can control - and I can control whether I'm more or less likely to become infectious myself.
