At least it's close enough now that it's not inconceivable - and I'd hope that we're at a point where economies of scale can help with some of those flaws (e.g. lithium, grid unready for the load). PV has gotten spectacularly more efficient - and one tech that makes the angle matter less (panel of lenses above smaller - but much more efficient - cells, each under a focal circle) also dramatically improves performance under clouds. Not super important for AZ or NM but consider what that'd do for the UK or Germany.
