Arguably, the Doolittle Raid was key to the Japanese loss as it caused them to change plans, far overextend their resources.
It also led to a huge boost in morale in the US. Launching fully laden bombers from carriers had never been done before, was considered an impossibility - letting FDR claim they took off "from Shangri-la".
I'd expect you mean an echo of the latter as the Rus are already overextended...
