An interesting window into cruise life.

I’ve made a point of avoiding cruises (sorry!) and rather going to some of the places they visit and staying there long enough to get to know some of the local folks (at least a week). I just didn’t understand how you can make a connection in the series of day-trip port visits cruises seem to consist of. I was missing that you make connections with the disparate group of people on the boat. I was also missing that Americans were a minority on cruise ships, so it’s possible — or likely — to connect internationally.
