American here. I'm pissed off too, but it doesn't seem to be specifically to use Ukraine to bleed the RF of men (although the RF is being bled). As best as I can tell it comes down to expense and turf wars.

Expense in the sense that the US has been sending weapons that have already been put aside in favor of new systems. Switching to newer systems means those systems are effectively more expensive, and until they're replaced, the US defense 'posture' is diminished. I don't agree in that this war is exactly why we have spent the money for those systems.

The there's turf wars. For instance, there's been one ongoing for *months* between the Air Force that would like to send Raptor drones and the Pentagon that's afraid the RF might learn technology from a downed one.
