Agreed that there are a few atheists out there who *strongly* believe there is no god or gods - but that's a (n often quite vocal) tiny minority.
The rest of us range from "most probably not" to Epicurean (probably yes, but whatever's there is uninterested in us), with a lot of "I really can't say" (i.e. agnosticism) mixed in.
I don't know anyone in that tiny minority, but I expect they are doing the same 'faith as an act of will' that I see in some organized religions.
Disclaimer: I was raised as a 'nothing', but was encouraged to 'seek'. Did a lot of that, found nothing compelling.
