Agreed on pretty much all points - and let's not forget that that blockchain 'engine' and crypto 'miners' are slurping up energy that could be useful for other things (without getting into the whole long distance energy transmission issue *if* they're co-located with a renewable source) and that's dumping carbon into the atmosphere.
Back on your topic: I'd bet those electric generation and transmission companies are NOT accepting 'coins in payment. I certainly can't pay my electric bill that way.
