Agreed on all counts, excepting mRNA vaccines aren't so much miraculous as the result of 20+ years of advances in bioengineering advances. There were already mRNA vaccines at the beginning of the pandemic - not vaccines for Sars-Cov2, but vaccines. We weren't aware of them as they were stuck at pre-testing, mostly around the difficulties of testing a new vaccine when there's already one that's perfectly serviceable (many/most, like polio and MMR to the point of extinguishing immunity). This new infection freed that up, plus the Trump administration dumping unlimited money into 'operation warp-speed' reduced the time from approval to production by at least a year.
