I had a 2014 plug-in Prius. I was seeing about 65MPG in-town, mid 50s on the highway. Only about 20 miles on battery. It wasn't exactly a fun car to drive - this new Prius looks like it might be.
One downside of a hybrid you haven't mentioned is that ICEs require more maintenance than EVs. For instance, recent high-MPG engines use low-tension piston rings, which means you really have to change the oil every 5K miles - and the undercarriage fairing (also to boost mileage) makes oil changes without a lift something of a project, as does the switch from spin on oil filters to cartridge style.
