Attia's got some interesting things to say about fasting. You've linked to his homepage, but I'd expect details to actually be in one of his podcast interviews with leading lights in different fields - or in an AMA (ask me anything) cast.
I've listened to most, don't remember Peter saying anything like that. Which one are you referencing?
He has mentioned autophagy, mitophagy, and fuel flexibility as being associated with fasting, as well as circadian rhythm with intermittent fasting.
