A1c is a measure of glycolytic damage to red blood cells (glucose level x time). I got curious as to how red blood cells vary as to their lifetime (which would have bearing on the 'time' variable above). I seem to have fallen down yet another rabbit hole here, but they vary from 70 to 140 days which can have an effect on how glycolyzed that protein might be.
