A note to grapefruit lovers: if you have a chance to eat a grapefruit ripened all the way on a tree, do NOT eat it unless you will have ongoing access to grapefruits ripened this way. You will forever be spoiled on all the ones we get in the North.

BTW, same goes for pineapples, but they don’t grow on trees. A fully ripened pineapple is nothing like the ones we get — even the ones shipped by jet.
