A few decades ago, I spent some months in New Zealand. I felt more ‘to home’ there than I ever have anywhere in the US outside of New England (where I’m from). I looked into migrating. At the time, NZ had a ‘points’ system, and, as a 30+ year old I had already lost. So, if you’re thinking of moving, start checking into it now. Wherever it is, spend a couple of months there (well, after the 14 days in quarantine) before you decide.

If I was staying in the US, I’d think about one of the outer islands in Hawai’i (my wife had family on O’ahu). The US is a BIG place. It’s not all the same. I have never heard someone say to me “Well, why don’t you leave?” when I’ve complained about the orange child in the WH.

BTW/FWIW, I’ve been back to NZ many times since then. If you’ve never been, get it on your list so you don’t set your heart on it and then find out you’re too old. Great place. Wonderful people.
